Adventure Rides
What is an Adventure Ride?
Remember finding all those sneaky shortcuts in your neighborhood? Sometimes they took you through alleys, unpaved spaces, side streets, trails, and more. That's the spirit of the Adventure Ride, to explore those spaces!
Adventure Rides can be 15 to 20 miles in length (with the exception of the last ride in McMinnville). You and your bike should be ready to ride off-road on unpaved surfaces such as grass, mud, gravel, broken pavement, etc. Are there hills? Sure! It’s not an adventure if we don’t hike sometimes!
You and your bike - you should have experience riding off-road on unpaved surfaces. All bikes are welcome but must be capable of riding off-road and/or have knobby/semi-knobby tires!
Spicy Rating🌶️ factors considered (including but not limited to):
number & steepness of hills
length of a climb or descent
overall elevation gain on the route
how challenging the unpaved surfaces are (e.g. gravel, grass, dirt)
major road crossings
vehicle traffic volume
pedestrian traffic volume
riding at high speed
hiking or dismounting
carrying your bike
sensory sensitivities - loud noises, strong smells, etc.
etc.
